STUDENT PERSPECTIVE

"Most students, when completing college or scholarship applications, inevitably come across the prompt that is some variation on, “Who has inspired you, and how?” From the first time I had to respond to this prompt, I knew exactly who I would focus on. The essay prompt may be cliché, but the profound influence Carol Hagar has had on shaping what I strive for and how I go about accomplishing my goals should not be underestimated. She has a talent for knowing what a student wants before they even know it themselves, and then guiding them towards that future. During my conversations with her I always felt immensely supported, and really came to believe that hard work would allow me to accomplish any goal. Under her direction I became a more confident and open-minded student, in both academic and personal areas. I learned how to use the people and resources around me to decide what I valued, and Carol helped me think of creative ways to challenge myself and explore my areas of interest. My community, which Carol was a large part of, instilled in me a deep sense of service and generosity. This underlying value fuels my academic and professional goals. With Carol as my sounding board, friend, and guide I learned not only how to create ideas and inspiration that really excited me, but also how to persevere, and turn those dreams into a reality."
PARENT PERSPECTIVE
"Carol gave my daughter hope when she was feeling lost and overwhelmed by the college search and application process. Her efforts became laser focused and her spirits soared. She saw possibilities where before she was feeling discouraged and frustrated. I felt much more at ease that the process was unfolding as it should and had less need to prod and push; neither of which were working very well.
With Carol's intuitive guidance and encouragement my daughter applied early action to her highest choice university and was accepted. This was a much more effortless process with Carol's help than her older siblings' college search. I would recommend Carol's programs to anyone choosing to get into top schools and to navigate the process with considerably less stress."
